Hey hey. Exams are finally over and boy were they oh so hard ugh!
I decided to cook out for my friends because I felt so out of touch with my cooking (eating take-out and all) and I missed their dumb asses (hey Jackie and Sponsor).

“Freestyle chicken” because I just made up some ingredients for the marinade and it all worked out just perfect and I think you should try too. It’s always best to go in with a rough idea of the recipe and not abide by the book entirely. Experiment and create. The carbonara is a recipe I got from one of my cookbooks and it played with it a little too. (bear with the length of this post haha)

Freestyle chicken recipe:

(serves three)

1 kg boneless chicken breasts

I teaspoon Garam masala

1 tb spoon Royco Chicken mix

1 teaspoon of curry powder

1 tb spoon Onion salt (I hate cutting onions. This is a good escape)

3 eggs

pinches of oregano, parsley and thyme

1 teaspoon of meat tenderizer (optional)

1/4 cup of ketchup and bbq sauce (add as much as you like)

2 tb spoons of vegetable oil

Grill the chicken breast pieces for about 20 minutes first. This preserves the flavour and speeds up the stir frying. Add all the other ingredients in a bowl together with the grilled chicken, stir thoroughly and leave the marinade to set for about 30 minutes to an hour (the longer the tastier). Set your frying pan to medium heat and add the vegetable oil. Place the pieces of chicken a few at a time till all pieces turn out brown and tasty. Serve.

Carbonara recipe:

(serves many)

1 pack of spaghetti

1 cup of whipping cream

1 carrot

1 tb spoon of onion salt

Carbonara can be blended with sausages, chipolatas, beef cubes etc. It’s a versatile dish if you love pasta. I made a vegetable version and you can add french beans and sweet peppers if you like.

First, I boil the pasta for at most 20 minutes so it doesn’t crumble. Drain out the water from the pasta. At low heat, cook the whipping cream and vegetables for about 5 minutes till the mixture is light brown. Add that mixture to the pasta and mix thoroughly!

Serve.
