Masala fish fillets

I also remembered I’ve not posted a recipe in a minute (sigh). I’ve made these masala fish fillets a couple of times; each time more delicious than the last so I felt I should share for those cooking this season.

Time: less than 30 minutes

Serves: at least 2 people


  • 2 whole fish fillets
  • 3/4 cup of flour
  • 2-3 tbsp. of fish masala
  • 1 tbsp. of salt
  • 1 bell pepper (yellow or red)
  • 1 clove of fresh garlic
  • 1 tbsp. of dry thyme and basil
  • Fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 cup of double cream (can substitute with coconut cream)


    Season your fish fillets with fish masala, flour and salt. Place in a frying pan and fry at medium heat till golden brown on each side.

    Remove fillets once done. Fry the parsley, dry ingredients and bell pepper together for about 3 minutes. Add the double cream and the fillets. Turn each side till the fish fillets are soaked in the cream sauce.

    Garnish with rosemary or lemon if you like. Serve hot alongside mashed potatoes or rice. (I later realized it doesn’t really fit with chapatti but it just looked so good in the pictures so I still posted them anyway lol)
